Numerical solution of an inverse medium scattering problem for Maxwell's Equations at fixed frequency

چکیده
Consider a time-harmonic electromagnetic plane wave incident on a medium enclosed by a bounded domain in R. In this paper, well-posedness of the variational problem for the direct scattering is examined. An energy estimate for the scattered field is obtained on which the Born approximation is based. A regularized recursive linearization method for the inverse medium scattering, which reconstructs the scatterer of an inhomogeneous medium from the boundary measurements of the scattered field, is developed. The algorithm requires only single-frequency data. Using an initial guess from the Born approximation, each update is obtained via continuation on the spatial frequency of a two-parameter family of plane waves by solving one direct problem and one adjoint problem of the Maxwell equation. The Inverse Electromagnetic Scattering
We consider the electromagnetic inverse scattering problem of determining the support of an orthotropic or anisotropic anomaly in a homogeneous background medium from a knowledge of the electric far eld pattern corresponding to the scattering of electromagnetic plane waves. Our aim is to derive a linear integral equation of the rst kind from which the support of the anomaly can be found by exam...
متن کاملExact solution of Maxwell's equations for optical interactions with a macroscopic random medium.
We report what we believe to be the first rigorous numerical solution of the two-dimensional Maxwell equations for optical propagation within, and scattering by, a random medium of macroscopic dimensions. Our solution is based on the pseudospectral time-domain technique, which provides essentially exact results for electromagnetic field spatial modes sampled at the Nyquist rate or better. The r...
متن کاملDense Media Scattering Based on Numerical Simulations
The frequency and polarization dependence of scattering by the densely packed spherical particles is rigorously studied with the Monte Carlo simulations for solving both 2and 3-dimensional Maxwell's equations at microwave frequencies. Numerical simulation solutions indicate that the frequency dependence of densely packed sticky small particles is much weaker than that of independent scattering ...
متن کاملAn inverse problem of identifying the coefficient of semilinear parabolic equation
In this paper, a variational iteration method (VIM), which is a well-known method for solving nonlinear equations, has been employed to solve an inverse parabolic partial differential equation. Inverse problems in partial differential equations can be used to model many real problems in engineering and other physical sciences. The VIM is to construct correction functional using general Lagr...

Stability of the solutions to 3D inverse scattering problems with fixed-energy data. Abstract A review of the author's results is given. Inversion formulas and stability results for the solutions to 3D inverse scattering problems with fixed energy data are obtained. Inversion of exact and noisy data is considered. The inverse potential scattering problem with fixed-energy scattering data is dis...
